Appearance related pay - good or bad?

Micky Adams has said that all the new players that he has signed, including Paul Brooker, and those who have had contracts renewed this year are on appearance related pay contracts. Does anyone know how this works? What is the percentage of potential pay that is deemed as basic pay, and how much is appearance related? While I can see some advantages in this system (given our experience with Paul Kitsoff) I have some concerns. I think that a manager with many players at a club may have some pressure put on him to play cheaper players by chairmen / financial staff, especially when there is little to play for at the end of a season. Not a good idea in my books.

I’m interested to find out what anyone else here knows / feels about appearance related pay.

No idea how it is actually worked, but the basic principle sounds like a good idea.
You get a basic minimum wage and then bonus' for appearances, goals, promotions etc. Its surely an incentive to perfom well.
