Coming down for the Boro match next weekend. Any central good comfortable pubs for drinks and food at lunchtime(women in the group as well!). Also getting to the ground and back into town, I hear various options of Train (queues), Taxi or bus, any advice and names of companies etc...thanks

Take the train my friend. It's BY FAR the easiest and quickest option. We're a friendly bunch, so simply find yourself somewhere you like near the station for a drink, boro fans will be welcome everywhere, then join the queue at Brighton station to get to the ground. Takes about 7 mins on the train, so even if you queue for 10 mins it's still pretty quick - the ground is right next to Falmer station. Post-match, usually takes about 10 mins to get on the train back to Brighton, or your bar in the away end will be open after game so hang around in there for a pint or two and before jumping on the train back to town.

Is it best to buy train tickets early in the day and is there any saver type tickets?

It's only about £3.20 return to Falmer, though to be honest they don't ever check tickets. Or you can get a travel voucher from the club (probably from your club too) at £2, which covers you for train or bus.

Loads of good pubs around the station.

The train ticket is a couple of quid. Most people (ssssssshhhhhhh!) don't have tickets as it's not policed due to the number of people travelling immediately before and after the game.

One option might be to get the train out to Falmer early and visit The Swan, in Falmer village itself. They do reasonable food with outdoor seating etc if the weather is nice. You'll then just have a short stroll to the ground just before kickoff, missing the worst of the busy period on the train to the ground.

If you want to experience central Brighton, and why not - it's very good, then you'll have huge amounts of choice.

As above - it's worth hanging about for a beer - you'll be welcome in the home concourses as well as your own - and let the rush for the train come and go before you head back towards town.

Loads of good pubs around the station.

I'd recommend The Lord Nelson or The Battle of Trafalgar or The Sussex Yeoman if you want want some decent scran. All within three minutes of the station.

Another ten pubs within five minutes including pub of the year Evening Star and many others if drinking is more important than eating

The bad news, you'll be paying Southern prices :(

The good news is it is sunny and warm

Also, as they are in a group they can get Groupsave3 or 4 tickets.
