John Byrne scored twice in a 3-0 Ireland win while playing for Brighton, scored 1st and last goal, so either technically was the winning goal

If only steve had been more injury free. I remember whenever he came back from injury, he was like a new signing. Quality player that was definately a first division player in the second.

I know Sergie Gotsmanov scored for Russia in a 2-0 win over England, but I doubt it was during his brief spell with us.
