Try Travelodge, there are several in and around Brighton. Hickstead is normally the cheapest of them for room prices

+2 from me on this one. And the bonus is you are less than 10 minute walk to the station. The train will take you directly to the stadium as well.

It's all about the bikes
The White Lion is about a 5 minute walk to Seaford Station (straight down the main road) and then a 30 minute trip on the train. Easy peasy.
