You're right, sort of.

Once a colony, then part of the kingdom of Denmark, now has home rule but Denmark still has control over certain things such as foreign affairs etc. Seems a bit like the weird relationship we have going on in Britain and or UK, but Scotland and Wales, and N Ireland still have independent FA's.
