HAT-TRICK OF HAT-TRICKS FOR RAMPANT REDS

ALFRETON Town continued their pre-season build-up with a 14-0 victory over a youthful Sheffield Wednesday side who found themselves overwhelmed.

In front of 538, the Reds took the lead inside the first two minutes when visiting keeper Sean Cuff pushed a Josh Law cross into his own net for an own goal after just one minute and 50 seconds.

Goals came at regular intervals after that and three players notched hat-tricks, Nathan Arnold, Nathan Jarman and Paul Clayton, the last of which came from the penalty spot.

Other goals came from Chris Senior and Jordan Hall.

Full match report to follow . . .

Alfreton are back in action on Wednesday evening when they make the short trip to face Matlock Town at the Reynolds Stadium. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Would be gutted if our Amex caterers lost to that scoreline

It was their academy players that lined up in that game, but that is no excuse for losing 14-0

No excuse for your youth team to lose 14-0 to a non league side! Unless they sent their under 15s or something?!

On a positive note (from Owlstalk ) an Owl posted that at least they were 14-0 a very creditable cricket score. Apparently the equivalent Sheff Utd. team played them a couple of weeks back and narrowly lost 3-2.
It doesn't bode well for the future well-being of the Fowls down at Swillsborough though. :D
