I have no insider knowledge what the number definitely are. However, having watched the preseason highlights on Seagulls World and having looked at the photos on the official website, there does appear to be some logic to the number they have been wearing in pre season.

The squad numbers from last season for those still here are:

I know dunk going to be 5 he put a pic on twitter and on there his training gear all had number 5 on it

It would make sense. The number is unassigned and his current number is a stupid one if he is on the fringes of the first team. That said if we do sign a centre back on a permanent deal, the number five shirt would have been a good one to give them.

That was the opening first team pre season game though. I mainly looked at the latest games in Portugal and Lua Lua has worn the 17 shirt at least twice over there.

I'd like to see Ankergren take the 1 shirt tbh. I'd generally like our first team to be numbers 1 through to 11, with numbers thereafter assigned to how close you are to a start!

The squad number changes that i think there will be (and i'm preety confident of looking and the numbers they have used in pre-season and on their training kits)

So Poke would require a new squad number
also i belive that Poyet may give Cook or Hall the Number 2 shirt?

Noone wore 17 for Plymouth, maybe he will be taking that and LuaLua or Buckley will be number 11? People talk about CMS taking LuaLua's number 12 but he wore 11 for the first stint here.
