I've searched the net but can't can't the address. Anyone know? Can you turn up and get your passport the same day? Do they charge more for this?

Cheers

Yeah passport office is behind Victoria. Walking distance from the station. Once you're in they're pretty quick. I got my passport sorted on the same day :) Cost a fortune mind.

You have to make an appointment, it's right next to Victoria. If your passport is lost/stolen the same day service is not availble and you have to go for the week service.

All on their website from what I recall, think it was £127 last year. I rang up on a monday and got an appointment for the Friday that week. Because I work in London I went in on the way to work, probably spent about an hour there, then went back sometime after lunch to pick it up. They were very pernicketty about the photo, even though I'd had it done in a specialist chemists place, it wasn't good enough - I wasn't looking into the camera apparently, but I couldn't tell..

I got mine done a few weeks back, and got it back in about 10 days just using the normal service

I did it at the booth at the passport office in the end, so wasn't too bad, I just thoguht I had done the right thing by getting it done "properly" to begin with.

passport office london - Google Maps (click on option A for closer map)

Victoria station is at the top of the map, directly inline with the A marker for the passport office. The apollo theatre (to the right of the station) is currently showing 'Wicked' - fantastic show, btw, and is a good marker for you to get your bearings when you come out of the station

Just got mine by priority service - phone them up and make an appointment - Think it was £120 as opposed to £77 - arrived two days later

The office is just opposite the far side of Platform one at Victoria - there are signs in the station to it

Having done this recently, they are three levels of payment.

One through the post,
One "same day" - by prior arrangement (which I did)
.. and one even quicker than that.

On the same day, you need to make an appointment (day / few days before) and you have to turn up when they say. They then you give a time (same day) to come and collect.

Believe it or not - it is incredibly efficient.

It's round the back of Victoria station - easy to find.

If you've got three weeks, why are you going to Petty France (passport office)? That's just for same day passports. Any Post Office can turn a passport around in four days. Surely that's fast enough?

Not in Petty France anymore and they've completely upgraded the system after the summer debacle a few years ago.

Three weeks is more than long enough. You now have to ring them up and make a one day appointment.

It's easy. I rang the day before.

I dropped the forms off in the morning went home and picked my passport up around 3:30. No queuing like the old days. The problem in the past was it used to be first come first served. No you get told exactly where you need to be at what time.
