With regard to Insider response to the previous question on this, are the club seriously going to group a 'memorial' gesture into one one minute silence at the begining or end of the season. I think a one off gesture in respect of fans that have died since we left the Goldstone would be appropriate but to group this with players that have served the club is a disgrace. You set a precedent that you might not like. For example, what if one of the players was killed, would you wait until the end of the season for people to show their appreciation? I see nothing wrong with the current system whereby there is a minute silence for players/officials who had a reasonable period or success with the club.

No, in exceptional cases, such as the unimaginable scenario you mention, or a club legend passing, we would still hold a minute's silence. A memorial day is for the club and fans the opportunity to pay tribute in their own personal way to friends, and others who have served the club. A lot of clubs adopt this policy, and our feeling is that individual minute's silence (or applause, if suitable) should be reserved for those situations.
