Dawn on the Downs today - lovely race, low key trail run through beautiful scenery north of Worthing near Highdown. 10mile, 10k and 5k distances. Very happy to finish 24th of 116 in 10 miler.
Going forward definitely more the kind of event I want to take part in rather than the big city events.

Today actually WAS a SB. Managed to shave a whole second off to finish in 23:43

What is the running watch of choice at the moment, TomTom are shutting down their website so I'm going to have to switch brands to get anything useful - which rather highlights the benefits of native client software for such devices...
Anyway, I'm thinking Garmin 245, which I think supports swimming (as I really should get back in the pool).

I’ve got the 255 and really like it. I think it was the first/cheapest one to have multi band GPS which really improves the accuracy.

Another vote for Garmin. I've had a few and, while they aren't problem-free (the other week the battery on my 945 decided it was going to only last a day before it needed recharging - and then it mysteriously returned to normal) on the whole they are brilliant.

Another Garmin fan here. I’ve a Forerunner 255 which is brilliant. Paired with the Garmin Pro HRM it gives you more data and features than you’ll ever need! Garmin connect (the app you pair the watch with on your phone) is also brilliant, way better than Strava in fact, but few people use it to even a fraction of its capability.
I tried an Apple Watch for a while but just couldn’t get on with it. It was very basic in terms of running functionality and the GPS accuracy was poor.

Left the dog behind today and decided at the last minute that I'd go for it - 22:49 around Hove Park

Good to see you put some efffort in. You certainly won the mind games today Greg. Told me sub 24 target; I lyingly told you sub 25 for me.
My plan was to take it easy but stay in touch for a possible late sprint attack. Half a mile to go halfway up the hill you came into my sights. I picked up effort BUT you shot away out of sight and got sub 23 and I got sub 24. You must have been bombing along as I had a pretty fast finish. Good work.
I'm visiting Hove Park instead of the Prom currently as the up and down slope gives more variety to the running action.

Those on the NSC Strava group will have clocked where I'm sunning myself, and that I did go for the 245 in the end. I am mightily impressed by my new purchase - so much information on my wrist, more on the app, and plenty of battery life.
