Hopefully not too long to wait, what happened to that Jesus chap? The physio that used to perform miracles.

He's used all his miracles up, I think. It was him that gave me the kicking from steel toe cap feeling.

You're getting in some impressive mileage lately. I'm expecting a good year for you.

I’m sure not long to wait, you’ll be troubling the top of the age grading table before you know it.
Have you any plans for a triathlon this year when fit?

Yeah, seems to be coming together for me, 18:21 at Hull Parkrun today. I was going for sub 19, now I’m gunning for sub 18 all of a sudden.

YouTuber (and very good runner) Ben Parkes was in town today, I noticed.

He'll have a Worthing Park Run video up in the next day or two: https://www.youtube.com/c/BenParkes

Here's the video. You might be able to see yourself GNT ? Big up Worthing parkrun! :clap2:

I've had the chance to chat with Ben at a couple of races in London over recent years. Super nice guy. He's had a very difficult 18 months or so (horrific ankle break and mental health well-being), which he speaks about on his YT channel, so great to see that he's back to some really decent running. He is rapid. His running clothing merch is worth checking out.

Ben Parkes may be a decent chap but his 80.86% was well beaten by NSC AG Supremo GNT's 82.53%.

Good to see Graham Gooden hanging around at the start and then finish with a first place 88.74% AG.

Thanks knocky1. Always good to see the new table!

All I’ve been able to manage so far in 2022, given my persistent Achilles problem, is 24m04s at Preston Park on Jan 8 which, thanks to my advanced age, gives me an AG of 70.36%

Plenty of scope to improve during the year, though ….

I've edited you in above soistes Good luck with the achilles. My achilles is almost fully fixed but having a bit longer off from the hip issue is probably good for it.

I did my longest run for a couple of years on Saturday. My friend invited me out on his long run, so I thought I'd join him. He's doing this challenge where he "collects" streets, trying to cover every street in Toronto. It was quite fun going to a neighbourhood I don't often go to, but it does get a bit annoying going backwards and forwards along all the streets and turning around at dead ends.

It was also the coldest run I've been on for a couple of years. It was -18C when I left and that was before taking windchill into effect. We both had our insulated water bottles with us but the tops kept freezing up and we'd have to take them off and chip the ice off!

Anyway, despite all that it was a lot of fun. Over 33k is by far my longest run since before the pandemic. It's good to know I've got that in me without being in a training cycle.

Talking of training cycles, I didn't get drawn in the lottery for Berlin. However, I've decided to buy my way in through the tour operator route.

Yeah, but can any of them do it on a freezing cold, snowy March afternoon across the Ridgeway and up Mt Caburn, Gaffer?

(To be fair, I reckon Ben probably could – I think he won SDW100 when he entered it the other year )

Shorter run than planned on Sunday – 6.5 miles to the SDW YHA and back – and then out this morning for a few. Mileage down on last year, but looking at quality over quantity in 2022

OK Cool Ted I've edited into the above table. Was that on Weston Prom?

No, Artie, you won't see me at the start. This is because I hide behind a beach hut half way up the prom and join in when the opportunity arises............(local knowledge at work).

He comes across as a top bloke doesn't he? So enthusiastic. And he said some nice things about Worthing (which looked rather splendid I thought).

The only other thing I noticed was that he made several references to the strength of the wind. Ben, mate: it was nothing! Love to invite him back when a big westerly is ripping in. (I did notice his '11km cool down jog' at 4.30 minute kms too!)

Thanks for posting the clip.

Inspired by the challenge of the new NSC table, I ran my best parkrun since July 2016 this morning. Probably peaked too early and won’t be troubling you again after today knocky1 but please enter me at 20:51, AG 73.70%.

On NSC for over two decades...
I ran my first trail 21k this morning, taking in all the steepest hills that you can access from Newlands Corner. Finished in about 2:19, which I'm perfectly happy with as it was a pleasant trot.

I subsequently found out that Nell McAndrew was running in the 10k (she was 1st Lady finisher), apparently my friend had thought she'd spotted her in the car park at the start, but she didn't think to get a second opinion from me!
