Steyning Stinger could be another option....? No beer, but a full English at the finish. Can also start earlier (when you want) and very social.

Moyleman entered and my metabolism doesn't allow me to run too many events close to each other. The Stinger for 2019 though

Good plan...I did them on consecutive weekends a couple of years ago (as part of 100m training). Was all fine apart from the Moyleman last 3-4 miles...........beware Mount Caborn

I turned up at Worthing this morning on the back of a 28km run on Thursday with my calf muscles aching so much it hurt to drive over there from Shoreham. I was only really aiming to do it in 21 minutes or so bearing in mind I was a long way from top condition. However it was just one of those days where everything came together and I smashed another 26 seconds off the PB to clock a 20:08. Get me up that table!!

****. Well done.
Don't overdo it though.......... (trying a tactic to slow you down).

I’ve no doubt you would be able to but I wouldn’t! I’ve got no chance of getting anywhere near sub-20 at Preston Park. If/when I do it it will only be at Worthing, or maybe as an outside bet Hove Prom. As I’ve said before, I’m a flat track bully. I think I’d currently be about 20:45 at Preston Park so there’s no point in you wasting your time on a lost cause. I’m planning to do Preston Park on Monday and again on January 6th so hopefully I’ll catch you at one of those? And if you venture to Worthing or Hove Prom any time soon I’ll take up the pacing offer!

Preston Park isn’t too bad I’d say it costs me between 15-20 seconds per race from Hove Prom so sub 20 with a pacer, whilst a tough ask isn’t out if the equation for an improving runner.

I’m 35 miles away from a 1,000 after a 20k run this morning in 1:30:45 from mine to near Albourne and back.

I wimped out of a PB attempt and went for pacing duty instead. Official time was just outside, but at least I clocked it dead on [emoji38]

I think you'd be surprised - Hove Prom and Preston Park are quite similar with the deadturns, the Prom is actually the worst for them. I do need to venture to Worthing for their parkrun as I've not done that at all yet. If you can run 20:08 today, I think you can run sub-20 with the Christmas cheer! I'll be showing up for Christmas Day, see you feel on the day. Congrats on another PB, jumps you up the blank table for 2018 a bit!

I've absolutely thrown in the towel for reaching 1,000 miles for the year but for next year I am very keen to smash the 1k barrier.

Peacehaven for me today. 23:09 was enough for 10th place and an age category win. I do like that course for its variety- surprised it isn’t more popular-84 runners today.
Next up Roundhay Park in Leeds on Christmas Day. Leeds - are nt they champions of Europe or something?

Happy Christmas runners!

Own up, who's been out running today and what running presents did you get?

Roundhay Parkrun in Leeds - nice park 3 laps of up and down. 82nd out of 380 odd 23:22.
No running presents unless you count the chocolates or whisky.

Gentle 5m this morning. Got a bit of a cough/cold, and had a very late night Saturday so feeling generally a bit crap. Might get out tomorrow before driving to Chelsea.

Happy Christmas NSCORT people....best thread on the forum [emoji106][emoji106]

So, Preston Park this morning was decent. My lack of training recently showed through but I strolled round in 19:45 and had a good chat with @The Complete Badger afterwards.

Today was parkrun #37 for the year for me, having run just 14 in the 3 years I've been running beforehand. I've set 5 overall 5km PBs over the course of the year, as well as breaking my 10k, 10 mile and Marathon records throughout the year as well. Technically, I did take over 5 minutes off my HM record in the first of the Brighton Marathon but that really can't count! My efforts and energy now will be on a sub 3 hour marathon around Brighton and Hove in 2018. I'll be racing the Worthing Half with the intention of breaking that PB in the build up - and then when the marathon nonsense is out of the way, it will be time to focus on the Weakest Link relay! The Super Egos will be targeting the title next year!

Here's to another year of running, and post race analysis in this thead!
