I replied with quote and got scared with what I saw. Cancelled immediately. That's an impressive table @Ninja Elephant.

I think @Mr Banana has done track sessions there, he may be able to give some information. As a non runner I won't add more than that, won't make a table of finishing times afterwards but would enjoy the spectacle.
I love racing at Withers. But that's a reflection of how boring I am - I don't like to have to think about the route too much when I'm waddling. I've done my PBs there. I don't know how you book it as my coach, who is a complete don, does all that. I think it may just be a case of seeing when it's free. I think they charge 5 per person.

That's a good time for a tough course. Well done indeed.

Looks like we are both planning an HM on Sunday. I reckon our times might be close. I've got experience, a flat course and a faster 5k on my side. You have (relative!) youth and probably a better recent training schedule on yours. Plus you are a 'hungry fighter'. Not sure how tough your course will be. I reckon I could get anything between 1.48-1.58. You?
I haven't been on here for a few days so only just seen this, but the best of luck with your HM, which I imagine is taking place right now.

Mine was yesterday and I recorded a 1:46:00 finish at 5:02/km. It won't get me far on the NSC leaderboard, but for a first attempt I'm very pleased. It's the best part of ten minutes faster than my training times. The thing I was most pleased with was that I held an almost identical pace throughout with every KM within a few seconds of the rest. I actually felt fine at the end, I'm more knackered at the end of a Parkrun. I sprinted the last 0.5km and probably should have gone faster earlier. But this was all about experience and I was a bit cautious as I didn't want to fall off the cliff, so I'll be better for it next time. I'm going to spend my afternoon deciding which HM to sign up to next and aim for sub-1:45.

Brilliant. Looks like upping the distance is no problem for you. Good new target but sub 1:40 looks to be a possibility within a year.
