Getting back to today it DID snow very briefly as I was driving past Horsham up to that London about 9AM. Now up in Essex and it is already below freezing but far too clear to snow...

In Withdean, we had min temp/max temp/settled snow depths:

26 Feb -1.8 / +1.5
27 Feb -3.3 / -1.1 / 4”
28 Feb -6.2 / -1.8 / 5”
1 Mar. -6.0 / -0.8 / still snow cover
2 Mar -1.7 / -1.4 / still snow cover with a 1” top up
3 Mar -0.7 snow gone and then back to mild weather

Used to rarely seeing snow in a life living near the Sussex coast, I was chuffed with that. Better than nowt.

There is nothing to see here. Last years prediction was bang on, we had virtually no snow whatsoever from the " beast from the east " which turned out to be a " newly born kitten from the east ", sure it was cold for 4 days and we had 1 very cold night but we had a grand total of 1 inch, yes 1 inch of snow for the 4 days before it was all over. As far as it can be seen it will be a bit chilly for the next week but in reality only back to average or slightly below, 6-7 c day time max, 0 c night time min and not about 5 c above normal day after day. Infact by the weekend it will be back to 8 c with a bit of rain. Laughable what the weatherpeople now describe a cold day in January as now

I love it when you arrive on this thread. Every hero (Papa) needs a panto villain, and you play the role very well. When you don't comment it suggests nothing is happening, when you do we all get our sleds out.

Have you ever considered a holiday this time of year to Canada or even Greenland? You should then get a decent experience of the white stuff.

had plenty last year and the cold was extreme.

I recall you posting on here ranting there was no snow etc etc as everyone was posting pics of it lol

Keep it up

Any updates for end of the week from the experts ?

Steady as you go....

There is also reasonable model support as well... the tricky bit is whether the sliding low middle of next week transfers cleanly into France. Most runs do this, and this opens the flood gates for a cold Easterly. When that doesn't happen, it doesn't mean we get no cold, as we get a second go a couple of days later.

Some caution is advised though. This from someone who knows their onions.
