The Venue is booked. Its is a private room with 2 pool tables and a bar selling bottled beer and wine. If you want other drinks you need to go downstairs to the main bar.

I will be needing £ 10 per player upfront shortly.

We need 24 players so are short at the moment.

There will be a raffle and the sale of Wardy's signed book, t shirts and photos.

Don't forget that if you have 24 players, you'll need 8 byes in the first round.

I think I may go large and go for 32 players if possible. That is 31 games with 5 hours and 2 tables. Thats about 3-4 games per table per hour which should be reasonable. We do not need any Stephen Hendry's and need each game to last 15 minutes or so which should be feasible.

brighton, actually
i'll have a place, if any left.

why not set a 10-15 min limit per game- whoever's in front (most balls potted by then wins the game?

and can / should we get Loaded mag to cover the night? they might be able to swing some free beer, and eye candy,, lol

gets mac (non-PC coat)... lol

PS_ should I win, would settle for entry fee & beer money back, and a signed PW book- the rest can go to the REMF.

there, i said it. it's online. so it must be true.

Unc – One game of pool can take an age. I should know – I got stuck in one which took over an hour once in a league game (don’t worry – I’m not Ronnie O’Sullivan by any Stretch)

Quickest way to speed things up is to adopt one of the World League Rules which differs from normal pool by the following .Either cue pool or object pool must hit a cushion after the cue pool has hit the object pool (except in a snooker). This means it stops all the tedious games where players keep rolling up behind one of their balls as it is otherwise a foul – It forces people to pot and rules out the all day and all night games.

Understandable if you don’t want to do this but someone needs to think about the rules being used as there is bound to be an argument otherwise (2 shots on the black, can you move the white ball after a foul, do 2 shots carry etc etc)

That is ok but I would need 2 referee's to watch the games and make sure it is being followed. I am not show how the original suggestion of 24 players would work as it does not work on a knock out basis. I think 24 players is more manageable but how would it work ?.

Table 1 - 12 players, 6 games, 6 players , 3 games - 3 players left , round robin ( 3 games in total ) - 12 games
Table 2 - as above - 12 games

4 hours per table, 3 games per hour average

Winners to play in the final

Total games 25

Think we should stick with European rules, just all understand we're working with a deadline, and not to take the piss.

Also; are we saying 1 game = 1 frame? Or are we doing best of 3, as per most tournaments.
