    Wardy for us, was a lot like Torres is now. Regardless of the level they play/ed at, the deft touches and deadly finishes are the same.

    What I think is missing from all the footage of Peter Ward - is the many slaloms through defences, the skipping around 3 defenders, sometimes beating the same player twice, leaving players sitting in dust wondering what just happened.

    That reminds me of Ward beating the same Spurs player 3 times at White Hart Lane in the video clip of the game from 1977/78. A wonderful sight.
