Painful to watch - as a very young lad I was mates with Nick Deaykin (sp?) and his dad had something to do with the club. This was a game we got free tickets for. Great! And kids these days think they have it tough. We had to lick the tarmac on the way home! Think there were quite a few scores in those days to challenge the videprinter!
The Exchange then the North Stand. Those were the days.
Yes, it painful to watch. Atrocious defending by Normall Gall on the first goal!
Here's Brian Clough's response to the game......

At least in that 2-8 defeat we had a few shots on target-and scored 2. Yesterday we didn't have one shot on target did we? Their goalkeeper could have rented and used a sunbed behind his goal for all the 'work' he had to do.
Lol, funny to see nigel clough as a young lad with his dad.
Great to see the Goldstone in its pomp. Rovers looked a seriously good team.
GR - that is nostalgic brilliance!
Brian Clough talking about the Albion? You'll be saying that a former Juventus midfielder took over as manager next!
Mind you, spot the bloke in the east stand moaning (for those who never went, the east stand OWNED moaning before computers were discovered) about the shit football, food and toilet facilities!
The Exchange then the North Stand. Those were the days.
It must have been a very cold trip home for their fans afterwards!![]()
Remember it well - Bannister and Warboys were major names in the division - absolutely prolific scorers - though with space like they had on this particular day ...
Glad you got something out of watching those videos.

Just found this interesting interview about how Bannister and Warboys developed a strikeforce style called 'smash and grab'.
