Completely agree.
WoW is good but not a shade on EQ2.
Also Star Wars Galaxies is good if your a star wars fan...I spent hours on both games and the best thing about MMORPG's is that they just don't end!

dont you reckon proper obsessive nerds aren't aware of this? you underestimate the power of the pull of short term fame for even the most reclusive of wierdos. A night on the pavement at least means you get to go home at some point, and not have to blow your brains out after wiping out your classmates to let the world know you are there.
Second Life is GASH anyway. Clearly there's extremes of online game playing, but these extremes also exist within hundreds of other obsessions outside of gaming.
For the people who question why you'd want to buy a game and then pay to play it online - it's no different from XBOX Live, where you pay £35 a year to be able to take a game online and then experience it with other people - either coop or deathmatch. Even with Live, there exists an 'RPG' element in many games where your experience allows you to access new weapons or levels. This experience is also added to your gamertag, which is similar to the time people invest in building up an online character in an MMORPG.
Would you want to spend time building up all the achievements and scores with a gamertag, only to throw it away and create a new one? Probably not, you'd see it as an investment of time spent building the score up. The same applies to a character within an MMORPG.

Haven't played WOW or Guild Wars for ages. Must get back into it as it's fun.
Eleven Million People might disagree with you on that one, but your review is just as worthwhile. Maybe you just didn't quite 'get it', rather than the game itself being shit.
