I'll add my penny worth on this as I was "taxed" £2 when purchasing tickets for the Hartlepool game.

This is a total con and the transaction is no where near a £2 cost as the club are charged a % by the card acquirer which would be the lowest as the transaction was authorised on line.

So quite clearly the club are ripping of the fans with this - any reason why they need more of our hard earned cash ?

The £2 booking fee is per transaction (not per ticket) and applies to online, telephone and fax applications and is an admin charge (to cover CC charges, P&P and admin). Over-the-counter and postal (with SAE) applications do not attract this charge.
