I remember reading that somewhere that during the course of the 1998/99 season, a club offered around 500k for Gary Hart and we rejected.

was that true?

no it was an NSC rumour started by Simster I think.

yeah.

god knows what he would have done here

he would have signed Butters, Webb, Hadland, and probably sold Kuipers to pay for Simon Royce
oh, and David Lee would play regularly

Ipswich were rumoured to have bid half a mil for Harty, but Knight said he wouldn't sell him. Think it was only a rumour though.
