Learnt today that Fred who sold the Argus at the Goldstone;Withdean; County Ground; Brighton and Goodwood racecourses died in march.

Very sad news 'cos Fred was a real Brighton Character.

Should have a minutes silence for him on Saturday, as a mark of respect...or alternatively just get a chant of "Argus" going.

Well if it is fixtures,another mention for the old fella wont do any harm.
I hadnt herd about it myself,and he's one of my earliest memories of football,walking round the edge of the pitch in that white jacket when i was just a young boy.

Days at the Goldstone were not complete without seeing Fred dashing across the front of the North Stand shouting 'ARGUS'...

Fred was fantastic.

R.I.P Fred................great memories of the Goldstone and Fred shouting "Argus"..........such a comforting sound...........another sad loss from such rich heritage of football memories. Sympathy to all who knew him

Personally I would rather have a minutes silence for this bloke than half of the assorted nobodies or vague links that we sometimes have one for. Or perhaps a minute of shouting aaaargooos?
