Wouldn't it be great to have a football manager with a sunny disposition

Why do all football managers in England look like right gloomy bastards? Wouldn't it be refreshing to find one who liked a laugh and a joke and was able to avoid the same old rubbish when being interviewed? Just imagine ... a manager with a ready smile ... who looked like he enjoyed his job ... who maybe agreed that his team played like a bunch of girlies on a bad day ... who didn't mind standing up and saying "yes, we were bloody fantastic" after a good display instead of looking for further improvement ... will this ever be possible??

It would be VERY refreshing. Tough to think of one manager at present who doesn't fall into the "gloomy bastard" category.

Are a few who are

Pearce?? He always looks as though the weight of the world is on his shoulders. And Jol rarely smiles.

Thats probably because it must feel like the weight of the world is on his shoulders, what with man city not playing too well at the mo, and being U21 manager!

I always like The flying Donkeys (Chievo) manager who always had on a huge club scarf and laughed through each game - wuite probably as they were punching way over their weight.

Ian Holloway is pretty cheery even after a defeat, and never makes out some dodgy decision is a catastrophe.

But I suppose that is the perspective that comes from having daughters that are deaf. If you've met and seen off those challenges, a dropped couple of home points really isn't the end of the world.
