    Ahh, it was Barclays, at the time, had a massive bust up with them in 97 . . . You can call your account what you like apparently, within reason I'm sure. I had beer account cheque books too. maybe now you could have a parasitic account, for all those who help themselves

    I now log in once a month, as you say, smart meter is a bit Tim Loughton. we're currently not paying anything out in energy useage and will probably not have to for a year . . . Which will helpfully see us through the worst of the latest shitstorm.

    I look at the bank every now and then . . . But we don't really get bills in the post any more. Ever since the mid 90's, I had 2 bank accocunts, one for salary and bills, and one called 'beer account'. It was my spending money every month.

Whether you think it's a scam or not, by signing up to DD it was a good way for salaried people to spread bills evenly over the year, Whats happened in recent years, is pressure on these crooks, sorry, 'businesses' to deliver for their shareholders and low interest rates ...
