    Calling @1066familyman .....loads of these local to me, I keep getting Bloody Milkcap when I try to id them, I can't believe they are edible though. Growing in grass near a Cherry tree that was sawn down 3 years back but roots were never dug out...if its an eater ( unlikely ) I'll tell you...

    Cheers for that, there were some Parasols in the area picked 2-3 that had yet to open up but bottled out of eating them as I could not get a 100% ID on them.

    Did you get any confirmation on The Prince that you found? I came upon just the one of these and it has the similar spot on the top...I did not pick it as it was the only one..

    Bit too windy for fishing so tramped out and around our holiday home for the week in Cornwall and found these monsters....absolutely huge, pretty unedible and loads of them.... I have learned that if there are tons of a particular Mushroom growing somewhere, they are invariably inedible. Giant...

    It's only the Yellow Stainer that you can get confused with in this case. It is important to remember though that there are mycelium webs through virtually all soil types and having had a load of Mushroom Compost ( food ) dug in to your soil its possible that fungi already dormant in your soil...

    Yes, as mentioned, pic #3 is Porcelain Fungus , quite beautiful when fresh and surprisingly, edible ! you just have to wash the slime off the caps first, the stem is apparently chewy.

    Cross check online or with a book, there is a nasty one called a Yellow Stainer that looks very like a field/horse mushroom, if cut and heated it turns bright yellow.... avoid !

    Been easing in to Shrooming myself recently, 3 weeks back found plenty of Giant Puffballs while visiting Mrs V's Ma in Shropshire. Not taken anything else for the pot though as been unsure on ID's.. Getting the John Wright River Cottage Fungi book soon to add to the phone app shroom identifier...
