My post suggested dropping batsmen who gave their wickets away " maybe even Root ". Just supposing Root had been dropped for this series, could the results have been any worse?
Could it have made a difference to the rest of the team knowing that they had to constantly play for their place...
Hameed and Jennings are still very inexperienced and the others in your list can all fall easily to a rash stroke, I look at that list and can almost see 92-5 on the scoreboard.
I'm not joking. The batting lineup seems to have been little changed compared to the bowling and all rounders positions... How many times does a collapse start by a loose shot at the wrong time?
How many times does this keep happening? it's usually Moeen or Root when well set but others always...
Good idea, and maybe one or two of the batsmen should be dropped from central contracts for a season?
Once you get in this team it's too easy to stay in.....except when actually batting.
