Co-comm says this will dent our confidence. Why would losing away at City to a dodgy penalty and a KDB wonder goal affect our confidence? So many positives from today's performance. Mind you, he changes his mind every couple of minutes. At 2-1 Albion were brilliant. At 3-1, we'd never really...

Ah well. Should be really proud of this performance whatever happens now. On a fraction of the resources, have taken on City at their own game and really made them sweat. I think RDZ has been very unlucky not to get more points on the board.

Can someone explain how Haaland's tiny nudge on Dunk was a foul but bulldozing Webster for the first goal wasn't?

Well done Tross. Score is a much better reflection of the game now. Come on Albion!

Not really. What VAR should have done was go with the on-field ref's decision as it was borderline. As they did earlier and for the first goal, where they decided Haaland knocking over Webster wasn't clear enough to intervene.

But as the whole screen thing is a charade and they give the VAR's decision 99.9% of the time, why wait? If we score in the meantime and then they disallow it to give City a penalty, it would be even worse.

One mistake aside and a shocking refereeing decision, decent half. Asking the occasional question at the Etihad and having a go is about the best anyone can hope for. One of the world's best teams shouldn't really need any help but seem to get it anyway.

Having defended VAR, what a f***ing joke that is. Clearly Silva looking for contact - and kills the game. Cheating ****s.

With a more intrusive VAR they could have had a penalty though for the Sanchez touch on Haaland, so it was at least consistent. The logic of the system is slightly odd. Not judging the challenge but whether the ref has a made a massive mistake.

Weird one. Can see why they'd let Haaland get away with bowling over Webster - just being strong. But with roles reversed they'd have sent Webster off, so he couldn't really challenge. Shame. Playing well before that. Always feels like there's a mistake in us though when being so adventurous.

Maybe, as they're trying to get used to a new system, RDZ is keen to persevere with the same players. Would make sense. They haven't exactly been playing badly. If he was chopping and changing all the time, people would complain he didn't have a clue about his best team.
