Armacao is my favourite but most of the resorts have benefitted from EU grants over the past 10 years resulting in good roads, parking, walks, smart beaches, etc. There are a couple of decent water parks within 20 minute drive of Armacao. I recommend car hire. Portuguese people are friendly...
