    I agree there’s an issue of inconsistency. How Stephens gets a red and Chambers a yellow is beyond me. The same with the shirts coming off and having different punishments. Yet that doesn’t get away from the fact Stephens’ challenge was still a red card offence.

    I totally agree with you. But for me it’s more that you need to move to harsher penalties for Cunningham’s type challenge than lessening the punishment for Stephens type challenges because Stephens’ challenge was reckless and dangerous, irrespective of the fact that it was a 50/50.

    To be honest, my natural instinct in the game was that two players were offside and CH apparently agrees but I’ve not seen it again so won’t judge until I have.

    It wasn’t worse. It was more cynical. There’s a big difference. Stephens’ challenge can injure people, whereas Cunningham’s just pisses people off with his cynicism.
