I don't really get what you are trying to say. In the 80's I remember hearing seriously nasty racist abuse at pretty much every game I went to. I'm not surprised that milder 'everyday' racism went unchallenged. It didn't make it right.

I thought this was all out in the open as being racist about 15 years ago when David Brent did it in The Office. Or have I completely imagined that?
