The bowling is so one dimensional. Ali's no Swann when he comes back, I'm still not totally convinced on his bowling, the remainder of the bowling is so one dimensional. Unless Anderson or Broad get hot or Stokes bowls fast we're not going to get good teams out.
Hindsight is easy but we should...
Botham's bowling average was in the low 20's in his pomp. People forget that he was chucking pies for the last 5 years of his test career. A great slip fielder as well.
He's in any conversation about best all rounders ever.
Anderson's record would have been far better but for the years the ECB...
Ian Botham. I'd have Botham at about 60% of his best. Anderson is a good bowler but Botham's one of the best cricketers this country has ever produced.
I'm tempted to go large on New Zealand winning that test series. Whatever price English bookies offer is going to be too long, I'd have them as marginal favourites, they were unlucky over here last time and they've got much better since then.
I'd like a bet on England not winning a Test all...
West Indies 155/4 - attritional stuff. Would have been very different if Cook's catch off Stokes wasn't a no ball.
Incidentally Boycott has just absolutely slaughtered Stuart Broad for backing away on TMS. He said that he needed to sort it out or he should be dropped. Suggested that it was...
Trott and Cook is a run out waiting to happen. I hope the Trott thing works out but as has already been said there's reservations.
Tredwell is a pityful selection, it tells you everything you need to know about the conservatism at the heart of English cricket.
