Things must have changed dramatically since I retired. Redundancy was always the job and not the person and if the company decided to reinstate the same job within six months the law stated, that the position had to be offered to the person made redundant first.

A long time since I did employment law, but how can you make the function of Safety officer redundant? Are they not going to have one, or are they going to give the job another fancy title?
