[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

A very good point! Happens to me all the time too

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

If you say so, court controversy sometimes perhaps but always offer an explaination. Anyway, yes, I will argue £4.50 for a pint isn’t unreasonable compared to many other local (and national) places with lower overheads etc. It’s not Spoons after all. And no one is forcing you to purchase. As for...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

They didn’t, unless you think Elior are a family firm LOL! And you said something about me being clueless...?:lolol: Anyway, you blast away with your insults ignorant of my career background in this industry but chiefly you ignore the demonstrable evidence of better operations at other stadia...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I doubt it, just seeing in context of what’s charged locally :) Also, let it go when it comes to a massive queue behind you at HT - an extra 3mm of beer you won’t miss but everyone else might miss there entire pint as that sort of customer request tends to short circuit Sodexo’s soldiers and...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I know, but the point was Watford Z didn’t understand what I meant by the half time window isn’t just the time between refs whistle when it comes to serving food and beverages. Plenty of fans forsake watching the game to get ahead of the main queue or finish beers off which is entirely their...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I think most understood what was meant by, people tend to go down 10-15mins before, come back later so they serving window isn’t just the time between refs whistles.

Except for service, I’d agree with that. I had a burger last season that was very pleasant. Some sort of spicy relish included and a decent bit of beef. Proper cheese too which frankly isn’t called for in the world of cheeseburgers when yellow candle wax is standard!

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Don't think the beer's overpriced by any stretch of imagination. And I get your point but it's not always the case you've time especially evening games. Yes we all can find alternatives, life gets in the way however and with transport issues meaning you risk not arriving at all, plenty people...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

LOL! I never ever, once, purchased any 'hot' food at the Goldstone. Life's short enough as it is. Even a hot drink was a calculated risk.

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I can't believe you don't even get a free cuppa tea at HT anymore. Outrageous really given the price you pay / cost of providing. Still, good for you to experience what we plebs do ;) PS do you prefer an Atlantic or Madagascan Prawn...?!

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Yep, no argument with that and we as fans were especially, in the first few years, too excusing of poor service because it was 'early days' (still being used in the 4th season by many due to operators changing). By then though many had simply given up and taken custom elsewhere (me for instance)...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I detect some sarcasm here! Didn't say worst, far from. But things could be done better, in terms of f&b service, as they are at other stadia. Convinced of that as are plenty of others on here too. That's point being made, not comfort of our seats or design of stadium which is 2nd to none as we...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Disagree - if it were impossible, how do other stadia operators get it right? Sadly, bit like the railways, football seems to shrug its shoulders and has done a marvellous job of, frankly, convincing its customer base like you that things can't be done better. Look at the number of resigned...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

I get what you're saying but it's more if you 'want' a drink? The HT window is actually more like 40mins too. Still short, but better service is most definitely achievable. Seen it up and down the country elsewhere, not to mention witness the Amex farce season after season.

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Believe me, I'm in this line of work and had quite a bit to do with the opening - there was a VAST amount they could have done a lot better / still could. Different people then and now obviously but as others say, the constant has been inadequate service throughout to the point people gave up...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Yes, but you're coming from a logical, practical angle. Sodexo's C&C approach is different. I'd start by employing, like the Caterers outside, more independent firms who tend to employ more permanent, family and therefore incentivised personnel. The Big Contract Caterers are all hampered by...

[Food] Catering at the Amex, has it improved?

Football clubs around the country could do so much better and earn more money. Most (not all!) are inept though, Albion included. As you say, they don't care and it's easier to avoid. I guess £110m from Sky means they'll never try to improve. The excuses are so tired and cliche that clubs believe...
