Trains from Brighton for Tuesday:

Except I no longer trust the timetable or that the trains will have enough capacity.
About 400 fans will arrive West Coastway at 7:05 pm (if the train is running just 5 mins...
I have tried the bus from Shoreham (discontinued) but the Russian roulette with the traffic was even worse.
The best alternative tried is the bus from Shoreham to Brighton station then the train in. But that seemed risky and it was a disaster on the way home.
It's all to do with Southern Rail...
I think all they really have to do is to put one extra train of 8 coaches leaving at 7:20 from Brighton to Falmer for evening games. Bung it on platform 7 and run all other services as normal.
Normal trains running to schedule would help a bit.
Apart from last Friday the Brighton to Falmers service is usually OK. West Coastway is bad more often than not. Normal timetable has one less train than normal (normal during the day) for evening games.. Service is just crap in the evenings.
That means travellers from the west will arrive at...
The above figures may be overestimated. Maybe only 150 can get into each carriage?
That would mean only 1050 fans missed the start of the match, and only 600 missed nearly the whole of the first half.
I left at six and got home at midnight.
I was queuing at Brighton for an hour. There were a 800 people doing the same. 4 carriages jammed packed = 800. There was another 600 (3 coach loads) that waited 40 minutes = 600. It would usually be a 20 minutes wait and they would all get on one 8 coach...
Evening Games
The first train is safe to arrive on time but crowded. (This mean I leave two hours before the game.)
The second crowded train arrives at Brighton just before seven and usually meets an 8 coach train that leaves for Falmer just after seven or as late as ten past. Sometimes the...
Unless people complain, they will do nothing about it.
It's dangerous (like Hillsbrough). Railway stations are known to be even less safe than football stadia approaches.
Needs 8 o'clock kick-offs as people cannot leave work and get to the matches on time, all because of Southern Railway.
