I'd sooner have Richardson, but I could see why he has no chance of starting in the Villa team. I hope he is better than Mattock! Best we can get is a good player who is off form and he seems to fit the bill. On form players cost too much.

Joe Bennett might be on too high wages? Say £20K ? Has he got the pace? I though Stephen Ward was ideal. Chicksen was very (=extremely) worrying at first defensively (especially vs Derby) but it sounded like he played OK against Byram.

I have been very critical of Chicksen but it seemed that he may very well have played well faced with wing-back Byram.
