Hope not. He was an important player for ADO.
Opinion from Holland (this was yesterday before they knew he was transferred):
I asked "Is he any good?"
"Yes he is! Especially his free kicks."
On hearing of the transfer interest.
"Hope not. He is an important player for ADO."
Thoughts:
He...
Reads a bit like a Brian Horton sort of player. Just what we needed to be better than Liam Bridcutt. Now we just need a Gary Williams-type, Mark Lawrenson type and a Peter Ward type and other clubs beware. I think we can omit the Teddy Maybank-type.
Holla, last season, 26 appearances, out of 34 League, three goals, three assists, and seven bookings. Reads very much like the standard defensive midfielder. Futball says his speeds and skills are comparable to Clayton and Bridcutt. Right footed.
Seems like a very sensible acquisition in the...
I tend to follow the Liverpool system and tend to think what Brighton players are (or could be) the Liverpool equivalents. Stephens the equivalent of Henderson? I had Buckley to play the Sturridge role (so I am very annoyed he was sold) and Lualua to play the Suarez role. Don't need an Ulloa for...
A bit of both, I expect. I think the Albion ought to study the Hull City method of taking corners and practice scoring and defending against all of their routines.
This is what I would play, 100% sure. I would not call it the diamond, more of a triangle. Should be moving triangles all over the midfield anyway.
Diamond does really imply a narrow 4-4-2 without wingers (Sven employed that at Leicester ??? with success against the Albion but it was not...
I can't see how! It is not the delivery of the corners it is the forwards (or advancing defenders) on the receiving end. Dunk should have had a hatrick against Cheltenham instead of the corner routine which he scored from.
I stick got stuck on the old Liverpool system. Liverpool looked more like 4-3-3 to me but I did not see enough of their play.
Player at the point of the diamond has got to be mobile. Or else it is too easy for the opposing defence. Rigidity of the system makes it popular amongst some players...
If this is true it goes contrary to all the tactics I was ever taught and agreed with. It is an easy system to play and an easy system to stop. Unfortunately, I really don't like it.
I liked the lob-sided (one winger) 4-3-3 of Gus Poyet best for home matches. I would like the Capello 4-4-2 for...
I see your point, but I have only checked the Albion players. Pace (acceleration and sprint speed) was usually right, just about everything else as guesswork (=subjective). I did not say anything different.

These stats seem OK for measuring pace which is easily recorded and less subjective:

Like for like, re Bridcutt and Clayton. I'd guess he...
I can't hack reading all the moans. I have Emailed a Den Haag supporter for his views. I have only got one Dutch contact who happens to support Den Haag.
PS: I did not think Bridcutt had been replaced satisfactorily. Ince is a better athlete but his skills, thinking, are not as good.
