    Your situation sounds to me like one where your dog should be allowed to live, under certain conditions, licensed, muzzled etc. I would definitely get a normal lead though, rather than an extending one. Much more robust and secure IMO, that should probably be one of the licence conditions too.

    Absolutely, if its a choice of having this dog or having children it's an absolute no brainer, that should be one of the conditions of any Licence, if that's the route the government go down.

    They're not illegal yet. Seems very reasonable to add these dogs to the banned list, and potentially many/most of the current ones should be 'removed' too, but there probably are a reasonable number who are 'OK' and owned by responsible people. If they can continue to be well looked after...

    Last year as my partner and I were walking home from the park with our do we were approached / ran at, out of nowhere by one of these on the loose. We didn't know then it was one of these dogs, but it was still pretty scary at the time, you could tell it could do some damage if it wanted to...
