I don't know if it's detrimental per se, but does it have an advantage over a more regionalised league where your longest trip may be to Reading or somewhere?
Not so much whether they can cope or not, but whether it's truly advantageous to be spending alot of money on travel and accommodation, does it make them better players? I'm not so sure. Just seems that the money could be better spent on coaching etc, every region of the country has enough 'big'...
