I’d argue considering it’s a needless piece of government legislation considering the incredibly low percentage of voter fraud, the onus should be on the government to provide support to ensure everyone has access to a form of ID, especially to those who will be most effected by said legislation.
Actually, Research by the Electoral Commission, the independent body that sets the standards of elections in the UK, suggests people from ethnic minorities are the least likely demographic to have photo ID.
Which statistically are more likely to be ethnic minorities who are also statistically more likely to vote for a certain party that is currently not in power. Purely coincidental I’m sure...
