The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

It was carnage last night at 6.30 - took me 35 minutes to get to coombe road then driving up coombe road all traffic was static. Whether you are green, red, blue or non political, cyclist, bus user, petrol head or pedestrian - the changes to the Lewes road simply do not work. A previous poster...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

I was in Worthing at the weekend and was truly shocked at how terrible run down and depressed the town centre had become - I grew up in Worthing, so was very sad.

"A cyclist was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken neck after a crash on New Church Road in Hove last night. Paramedics were called to the scene, near to the junction of Park Avenue and Welbeck Avenue at 9.05pm on Monday. The cyclist was travelling south on Park Avenue and was...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

looks like I have found my solution - I can cycle to the Amex - jump on the free 4 star hotel shuttle bus and be in the town centre in 5 minutes

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

A stationary car parked in a cycle stop area is not as dangerous as bike w@nkers jumping red lights - They are in no way comparable and you know it.

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

You should know the figures are probably correct - you seem to do a lot of cycling and seem to be one of the "good" ones - so you must see at least 72% of the bike w@nkers zoom past you as you wait patiently at a red light, no?

generally there is a massive fvck off 20 painted on the roads - look out for them.

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

bus w@nkers and bike w@nkers - watch the inbetweeners... that was my reference point - I have nothing against bus users or decent cyclists what I do object to is the continual persecution of car drivers as if we are some sort of social pariahs. I do also object to they type of bike riding I see...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

no its not difficult to understand - although it appears for the majority of cyclists on the lewes road it is hard for them to cycle in a straight line or obey basic road laws like stopping at red lights. I have driven up that road at rush our for 10 years - luckily I have never seen any...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

thanks for validating my point - safe if you don't cycle double breasted.

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

Cycle lanes only made dangerous by cyclists riding double breasted. So the solution to stop start traffic because of bus stops is to increase the congestion and completely grid lock the road at peak times by reducing its capacity by 50% - pure genius. Your last point is nonsense -...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

The point is - that the road was ok prior to this re-structure - traffic would flow on both carriage ways freely along side buses and bikes - with already a decent cycle lane. That was perfectly adequate if cylclists used it appropriately. (other than when the bike train mob cycled down the...

The Lewes Road bus lane/traffic congestion

100% this - always said it would be a disaster - reducing the capacity of one 2 major routes out of brighton by 50%.... no surprize its freaking congested now. I guess the bus and bike w@nkers are happy though - which is nice.
