I think a taller keeper would have stopped Leicester's second either by coming out and claiming the ball or tipping it over the bar. Agree, his save against Jesus was excellent and he got a great reaction from the crowd for that. I do think fans are willing him to do well, but are also worried...
Stockdale made it quite clear why he left in an interview for Sky Sports, which was reported in the Argus recently (just been trying to find it online). He said it was about putting his family first. He wanted a long contract so his family wouldn't have to move around, particularly because his...
I agree. I am willing him to do well and I really hope he turns it round. I must admit I was very disappointed the club didn'd do more to keep Stockdale.
Every time I look at their second goal from yesterday, the worse it looks. He makes no attempt to come for the cross or punch it away and a better (or just a taller) keeper would have palmed it over the bar. It really does look very poor. And, yes, he should have done better with Dunk's header...
Stockdale was criticised when he first arrived for letting a lot get past him but I can't recall him making any really bad errors in his first games for us. Three out of the four EPL goals we have conceded have been due to Ryan's mistakes. And that's not mentioning the calamity against Madrid (a...
Wasn't it said when we got him that he was an excellent sweeper which was needed in the EPL and that was why we had bought him? I really hope he turns it round. At the moment i cant help thinking we might well have got a point at Leicester if Stockdale had been in goal. And every point is precious.
I thought he could have come for the cross and also done better with the header. I think the fact he didn't save it is largely down to his height, unfortunately. If he'd been 6'4, he might have got to it.
This picture of the second goal from the Argus says a lot. Why is he crouching? At his height, he's never going to stop a header going into the top of the net like that.
