That will be Alan Holdsworth, I'm also a Robert Wyatt Fan, I think the Moon in June by the Soft Machine is possibly the most sublime piece of music ever written, especially the BBC Top Gear version (not forgetting the extra facilities, such as the Tea Machine, just along the corridor)
Thanks for these, will check them all out.
I realised I didn't mention the Yanks like Husker Du, Buffalo Tom, Sonic Youth, Throwing Muses, Drop Nineteens or the mighty Pavement.
A lot of my 90's CD's are going to be dug out over the next few days!
Spookily enough I was working in Faversham today!
As a teenage Soft Machine Fan in 1970's Cheshire I never thought I would ever get to see any of the Canterbury Scene hangouts...
All the Shoegazing Era Bands of the 1990's seem to have drifted away into obscurity.
You never hear any radio play for Curve, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Lush, Pale Saints or the Boo Radleys, all of whom produced some stonking stuff.
