I’ve spent THREE HOURS on these answers this morning, and am now rather less bullish about them than I was initially. Very happy with my answers to two of them, but a couple are significantly trickier, and the 1978 World Cup one is going to have a LOT of guesses!

For me, 1981. I was 10, and it was the first one I saw, as before that I was living in the Middle East, and it wasn’t shown on our (mostly American ) TV.

Another terrific set of questions, for our semi. Not easy to get the difficulty level consistently spot on, but he’s done it again. At first skim through there’s barely a couple of tap-ins, but none that are completely impossible. I’m always getting confused between what happened what year...

There’s a fine balance between being old enough to have seen / heard / learned stuff, and being too old to remember any of it!

Answers sent, but not happy with a couple, that I really should know, but can’t pull out of my head. Both points totals, and ‘which year’ ones are educated guesses, and who played Newcastle, the day we blew it, is a total wild stab :shrug:
