Both of Musa's goals against Iceland were quality. The first, he controlled it in his stride and BELTED it in. The second, sat the keeper on his arse, cut inside, took a breath to compose himself, then knocked it past the defender on the line. Both great.
Nacho and Pavard, both brilliant (though in truth I'm not convinced Pavard REALLY meant to cut it that much!)
Quaresma I'm ruling out, as he only did it because he has LITERALLY ( (c) J.Redknapp) no left foot.
Lingard's was as great as it was unexpected.
I'd add:
Messi - the first two touches...
Haha. Bless.
Nobody cares what drug-addled nonsense Maradona comes out with, but to address poor Radamel's concerns about the '50/50s'...
The snidey little head-butt on Henderson, in the wall - that's 80/20 Red/Yellow, and he went yellow.
The challenge on Lingard in the box - that's a 50/50...
1. He was NOT booked in last night's game. Not for that incident. Not for any incident.
2. 'Falling to avoid the tackle'? So diving then? The fact that he realized he might be in trouble, and quickly put his hand up, doesn't alter the fact he chose to go down, under no contact at all.
On the Scottish ABE thing...
I was unfortunate enough to be working in Glasgow through June of 2002, and had to watch the fantastic victory over Argentina, with one English mate, in a bar full of bitter Scots in Argentina shirts. 90 minutes of anti-English abuse shouted at the screen...
All fair points. But, James (yes, I know) / Quintado / Cuadrado / Falcao is attacking threat MILES above what either of the others pose.
On the flip side, they are the least organized at the back, of the three sides, so anything could happen...
Yes.
Obviously that doesn't necessarily follow that a (potential) QF would turn out to be easier - any of the three sides COULD beat us.
But yes - from watching every one of the nine games they've played in so far, Colombia are the best side of the three.
