MacDonald's of wines Jacobs Creek, Blossom Hill, Harry's etc

Cheers :) Doing it (1) on a Thursday and (2) during the international break, thus no chance of it getting in the way of the Albion

I think Sainsbury's and Waitrose have the 25% thing on currently, which is why I was aiming to get a move on (well, that, and the fact that the wedding's in August) :)

I've long had a plan of going out somewhere one night purely for the purposes of this experiment: to order the bottle costing a few hundred quid, just so I can see how it tastes by comparison to my usual (not to the local Harvester, obviously). I just haven't got round to doing it yet, this year...

I don't consider myself a wine snob. I'd probably struggle to differentiate between various wines across the spectrum. But I do know Blossom Hill tastes like cat piss. That's not snobbery, it's just the fact that it's truly disgusting.

I got a free case of Le Piat D'Or from P&O Ferries a couple of years ago as a "bonus" of booking a Dover- Calais crossing. I think the box is still sitting in my garage now (I did wonder if I might use it for some sort of beef & red wine stew, but had largely forgotten about it until now).

I am far from a wine expert, but Blossom Hill White is comfortably the worst wine I have ever, ever tasted. I'd rather sink an entire case of Le Piat D'Or than that stuff.
