UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

Or maybe they didn't fancy going down to ten men :)

UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

Not sure it would be the same as Grabban. Bournemouth are fairly well off & handing out fat wages to players. They're also comfortably mid table. Charlton, on the other hand, are facing a relegation fight & probably not big payers in the grand scheme of things. I'd be *slightly* more confident...

UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

Charlton are on a terrible run of form and are facing a real threat of relegation. Is it therefore a surprise that Chris Powell denies knowledge of a transfer bid for one of his key players? The fact that he says it hasn't happened doesn't mean that it hasn't (or won't). Ridiculous what sort...

UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

That's how it works though, it's brinksmanship by all the clubs involved. No club wants to sell a key player unless they've got a replacement lined up, hence Bridcutt hasn't gone to Sunderland yet. On the last day there will be a frenzy of activity as usual, Jim White will spontaneously...

I'm not sure if he counts as young talent in the Saints mode, but I'm all for us picking up players that the rest of the world hasn't necessarily noticed yet, and watching them develop with us.

UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

I think there's something quite satisfying about identifying a player that the rest of the world isn't necessarily looking at and watching him develop into something really good. Arguably more so than spanking millions on someone you know is potentially amazing but has the burden of expectation...

UPDATED: Dale Stephens SIGNS 3.5 Year Deal

Seems like an awful lot of arrogance on here. Personally I'm more than happy to give players a chance. I've heard of Stephens but I know little of him. That doesn't mean he's not worthy of our club, FFS. Why should we expect big names every time? Our best players in recent seasons have...
