Not sure I was ever taught that and certainly not what I teach. Drive at the appropriate speed for the conditions up to but not over the limit and use the appropriate gear for the speed you are doing and that would depend on the gearing. My Yaris is quite comfortable in fourth at 30 but a...
Is that the best you can do. A dumb cyclist hits a parked car and because he only has a buckled wheel your argument is what if it had been the other way. It wasn't. The video was posted to refute the dumb suggesting of Bold Seagull that all incidents between motorists and cars are wholly the...
But that's not what you said. You effectively said that the driver was to blame irrespective of the circumstances which is not the same as a presumption of guilt 'unless you can prove otherwise'. You've changed your position. I'm tempted with another facepalm.
You start with the viewpoint...
You can lead a horse to water etc etc but once they've got their licence there's not much that can be done. However, more cameras and using those as evidence of careless or reckless driving would help.
So pedestrians don't step out in front of cyclists or cyclists never go through a red light and cause problems. I really don't understand your insistence that everything bad that happens on a road is the fault of the motorist. Most of the time it probably is but not every time. You can't...
No link other than the fact they share space with several tonnes of metal that can cause them serious harm! Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting they have the same level of testing as a motorist. Kids do a bikeability test at primary school but even if they fail that and don't get a...
So you're still on the 'them or us' approach rather than 'them and us'. Truly bizarre as I've never said it is equal billing but you carry on making it up.
I'm not really linking them together but SB bangs on about cycling and wants more testing for motorists but never seems to suggest that cyclists should also have some basic training. It's not one or the other, it's about road safety for all.
Personally, I think that every 10 years you should have to re take a driving test. That said, what mandatory training do you think there should be for cyclists?
Surely it would be safer if people didn't know where the cameras were and therefore drove as if they could be caught at any time. Advertising where the cameras are just means people slow down as they approach that spot then speed up afterwards.
