I think you actually need to look at the people that fund those wages.

It's not just about the ticket price though, the club want fans to spend money at the ground as well so even if you lower ticket prices, the less well off will spend less at the concessions. I'm not sure what it is now but I believe there was a stat somewhere when we were in the championship...
