You seem to be the one making sweeping statements. Gregbrighton was talking about his experience within the church. He stated there were good things but there were bad things. Where on earth does he say that one bad person makes everyone else the same?
I'm not sure contracts have anything to do with it. She stood for election and got voted in for a term of office. I'm sure at the start of her term she was well aware of the debate about same sex marriages and the possibility that it might become law.
She doesn't want a less drastic solution though. Sees herself as a martyr to her cause. She is where she is because she is less tolerant and not accepting of other peoples legal lifestyles.

The point is she didn't do her job. If she didn't like what was being asked then she should relinquish her position but by not doing so she is blocking someone else from doing that job properly. That said, she has probably got what she wanted, publicity.
