LOL. I got badly bruised at Selhurst when Knockaert scored……bundled over the seats due to the ‘surge’ (which I am very much too old for  ). No such issues at Spuds when Trossard poked in the late winner, the waist-high steel bars pretty effectively stop any surging or crushing
Can‘t remember. Only game I have sat down at in years was at Saints - and only then because I was in the front row and there were people in the row behind unable to stand.
100%. Safe standing is LESS ‘old school’ than current ‘unsafe’ standing. The rails stop any kind of bundling over etc when that last minute winner goes in.
Would agree - pretty much exactly where I am normally (WSL, 11 rows back). Have sat all around the ground and not found anywhere I’d rather be but very much down to personal preference though
It is, but they are asking…..and not saying what won’t get done if the cash is spent on safe standing instead. Why not, for example, a question aimed at preference ?
-safe standing for xxxx fans in the following blocks or
-toilets, additional food and drink concessions and big screens outside...
I did at the weekend. Surprised how crowded the concourse was compared to WSL, and took ages to exit after the game. Seats noticeably closer together too - can see how they have been squeezed. Nice change of view for a change but not for me Clive.
That’s what I thought, so why not be explicit? …..more important than safe standing imo but the survey doesn’t have a question that addresses what might not get done instead.
The safe standing I’ve experienced at a couple of away grounds works well - but (obviously) only does so if everyone stands. Not sure how that is achieved without upsetting a ton of people who might need to move if it’s introduced
The slightly disingenuous line in the email about installation...
