If TB is as close to the fans and as far away from PB as you seem to think, how do these decisions get implemented? Surely TB is being bombarded with comments from upset fans - can’t imagine he is saving up all his feedback for his twice a year discussion with PB and letting him do anything he...
………but without the new controls, the limited tickets for Bournemouth and Brentford will continue go to the people that buy tickets for many other away games and flog them on to mates, harvesting the LPs and staying in the top tier.
…..but the ‘rules’ are really primarily designed to stop T1/T2 LP holders gaining further points without going to games, and to stop groups getting together to transfer those T1/T2 tickets to bellends who cause trouble.
Sounds ok……..would need to be a limited number of times - 2-3 maybe ? - otherwise harvesting would continue. Something has to be done - having absolutely ZERO way of reassigning an away ticket is rubbish.
Yep, this. I had a Brentford ticket….couldn’t go…..and couldn’t legitimately pass it on to a mate (also in T1) who couldn’t go when they went on sale but ultimately could have gone. I waste £30 and there’s and empty seat.
From what Barbs has been saying the level of bellendery has already significantly declined hasn’t it ? Be interesting to see in the first few games after the WC, Charlton in particular which is close, late, and almost anyone can get a ticket.
Agree but the club have made this so complicated and inflammatory
1. only be able to buy away tickets if you’ve got enough points….randomly check a few to make sure no-one is taking the piss.
2. if you buy one and can’t go, have a legit, approved, exchange process to pass it on to anyone with...
Exactly. LPs have been secured by that point.
The missing piece of the club jigsaw is a legit means of transferring a ticket if after purchasing, you subsequently can’t attend.
That doesn’t stack up - loyalty points you gained in the Championship aren’t worth much at all - points are halved every year, so even if you had 200 extra points when we got promoted those were worth 6 points at the start of this season.
There is a valid point about people unfairly gathering LPs as well though which this has more or less stopped……..but there has to be some way of transferring away tickets already purchased. They are bought well in advance and plans change.
I know what you mean but it doesn’t practically - the vast majority of troublemakers have already been kept out simply by having the policy in place and the checks, so the odd ‘offender’ going in (whilst they ‘fact-check’ so they get a watertight case) doesn’t really make any difference.
Most likely the club note it at the gate, record the details and then go back and do a full check on who bought it and when etc so they are 100% sure of their facts before handing out the ban ?
